The idea is not to just play records released in a particular year but more about recreating the buzz that was around at the time, including tracks released on record in previous years but still very relevant as well as those not yet on record but a staple part of an artist's live show, b-sides & album tracks or sessions recorded for radio broadcast such as on John Peel's show.
Either way, every track I play at these anniversary events were heard in the year we celebrate and no doubt in someone's list of favourite tracks of that year.
1975 was probably the first year that saw the artists of yesteryear start to get pushed out to make way for a revolution in music and youth culture, yes it was 50 years since we the the emergence of Punk!
Not only will you hear the tracks that bands were playing live around the world, most notably London & New York, I will also be playing some of the songs from the 50s & 60s that inspired the bands and went on to be covered by, Punk, New Wave & Alternative artists.

With THREE anniversary events per year now, we're focusing on 1985 when Goth had got a foothold whilst great pop music was still produced!
Take a trip back to the Mid 80s with Mutant Movement, the New Romantics had packed their bags and moved on and we were yet to reach the House explosion. Expect to hear a blend of the best in Pop along with a few dance classics of the day and what you’ve come to know Mutant Movement for, the biggest Alternative Anthems to keep that dancefloor packed all afternoon and into the evening.
You can vote for the tracks you’d like to hear by clicking on these two links, taking you to an Alternative and a Mainstream poll on facebook:-
